Life and Death regroupe les épisodes 139 à 144 de la série, traduite dans nos contrées sous l’appellation : Opportunités. Saluons le sérieux de la parution française qui n’a que 5 épisodes de retard avec l’américaine !

Le volume précédent confirmait le renouveau que Robert Kirkman souhaitait donner à sa série en mettant Carl Grimes au centre de nos morts marchants…Pour le meilleur et pour le pire, cette dynamique initiée par Kirkman est ici suspendue. Les conservateurs seront aux anges, les autres qui se réjouissaient de ce nouveau souffle devront ronger leurs freins, puisque ce volume voit le grand retour de Michonne, d’Ezekiel, de Neggan et bien entendu de Rick Grimes.

Cette histoire met en scène un coup de théâtre concernant Neggan, Maggie Greene doit prendre une décision cruciale pour son leadership, Michonne explique les raisons de sa longue absence, et Kirkman après nous avoir fait visiter le campement des Whisperers, nous abandonne sur un des cliffhangers les plus impitoyables de la série !

Conservatrice, oui assurément cette histoire l’est : on y retrouve des pages très bavardes, parfois pénibles lorsque l’on a attendu 5 mois pour connaître la suite de l’intrigue principale, Neggan retrouve son apparence normale et des cut-scenes parfois brutales.
